Caprock Plains Wind Energy Association (CPWEA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit that strives to provide a unified voice for our region, letting developers know that we want wind development and helping companies involved with transmission build out stay in touch with landowners.
Being a membership-based association supported solely by membership dues paid annually, CPWEA is dedicated to providing leadership, information and education for all members. The majority of our members are landowners, but other members include local businesses, cities, and counties as well as companies involved in wind energy development and individuals and businesses who are simply supportive of wind energy development. We hope to ultimately help landowners secure the lease of their land for wind energy development and in turn help strengthen local communities.
While our main focus is on getting large scale wind energy development in our area, CPWEA also has contacts involved in small scale and residential wind development and works to be a source of information in that aspect as well.
The majority of CPWEA's landowner members are from Hale, Floyd and Motley County, Texas. Click here for a map of our location in relation to the Public Utility Commission of Texas' (PUCT) Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (CREZ) proceedings.
